Paula’s BBC2 television documentary, Jane Austen: The Unseen Portrait?  was originally broadcast on Boxing Day 2011. It premiered in America on the arts network Ovation in April 2016, and has also been shown on ABC television in Australia.

She is the Jane Austen Consultant for the ITV/PBS dramatization of Sanditon.

Paula is a regular reviewer on the books pages of the Saturday Times. She also sometimes writes for The Observer, Prospect, The Spectator, Catholic Herald and the Times Literary Supplement.

She has featured on BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour, Today and Start the Week and has been a guest panelist on Radio 5 Live’s arts programme, Will Gompertz’s Heat Map. She was featured in a BBC Radio 3 documentary on Jane Austen’s Persuasion and BBC Radio 4’s Great Lives – on Austen again. She has appeared in various television shows, including one in which she tried to persuade Giles Coren to like Jane Austen and another in which she brought her expertise about Kick Kennedy to a major new CNN series on the Kennedys.
